I think this photo is one of my favorites from the Bali trip. I don’t know why. Is it her face? Is it that stolen moment? Is it the way she looked at me? I think it’s a mix of all that. But what I love the most is the emotion that comes back to me each time I see it. Like a feeling of lightness and peace.
In the heart of Bali, in a hidden courtyard, there she is. Sitting, surrounded by colorful flowers, old statues, and the soft sound of the breeze. Her hair, like a silver river, tells tales of the past, and her eyes sparkle with countless memories.
Around her, everything seems unchanged, but when you look closer, you can see the subtle signs of time passing: a weathered statue, a fading flower, a letter yellowed with age, her wrinkles, her hair.
Yet, life is present in this courtyard. Birds sing, children laugh in the distance. With her peaceful smile, she silently witnesses the balance between the past and the present, between the melancholy of memories and the joy of the now. She embodies the very soul of Bali, where every stone, every flower, and every smile tells a story.
