One doesn’t need to cross continents or sail across seas to listen to the inner voice that wants us to go see new places.. Sometimes, adventure awaits right outside our doorstep, in familiar places we think we know by heart, yet still hold secrets and wonders. With this mindset, I embarked with a few friends on a local exploration, a small four-hour walking expedition to rediscover a space I thought was mine. My neighbourhood. The one I live since + 5 years.

We started our walk at dawn when the cool morning air still caresses the skin and the world seems to wake up from a long night.
We walked away from the usual roads, reaching sugarcane fields that waved like a big green ocean when the wind blew. Even though this was near my house, my camera made it look special and endless.

This local expedition, simple in appearance, awakened in me an awareness: discovery lies not in the distance traveled but in the ability to see the world from a fresh perspective, to appreciate every detail as if for the first time.
Photography has the power to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. It reminds us that adventure is a matter of perspective, and the desire to discover can be satisfied by simply opening our eyes wide, whether thousands of miles away or just a few steps from home. Each photo taken that day is a testament to the beauty that surrounds us, waiting just to be seen and appreciated.
